HOW WE WORK IN
BRIDGES

Client: DRAGADOS
Location: Bahía de Cádiz

The bridge of the Constitution of 1812, which crosses the bay of Cadiz, has become a landmark of Spanish engineering.

It has a total length of 5 km and a width of 36.8 m, capable to accommodate two lanes for road traffic and a platform for a tram.

Elevators for people and materials Turboiber, thanks to its versatility, have been chosen to give access to staff in building the batteries.

BACKGROUND

The bridge, cable-stayed design, reaches 69 m gauge with a height of 185 m, making it the second highest sea bridge in the world.

THE PROYECT

Facilitate access of workers at board level and the top of the shaft of the pillars without crossing the deck formwork itself.

THE SOLUTION

The solution provided by Turboiber was to use tower cranes as a means to ascend. To this end, they installed rack and pinion elevators attached to the tower cranes, creating access to the bridge across the moorings
