In 2010, the electric company Iberdrola begins the demolition twin chimneys 150 m high with a coned base, reinforced concrete cylindrical shaft and innerduct
firebrick.
The fireplaces are very close to the new combined cycle, and therefore needed to be mindful of working at such proximity.
BACKGROUND
The proximity of the new plant chimneys blocked from using the procedure demolition by blasting.
THE PROYECT
Installing a four single mast climbing work platforms that would demolish the two chimneys without causing damage to the adjacent plant.
THE SOLUTION
The interaction of the four single masts with each other and the design of a combined solution with vertical descent workers were key to the demolition of two chimneys.
This project won the award for the best project and work of demolition of the year in the third edition of the power Awards 2011.
